King James Deuteronomy 22:5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord they God.

I Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Amplified Bible 1 Timothy 2:9-10 Also (I desire) that women should adorn themselves modestly and appropriately and sensibly in seemly apparel, not with elaborate hair arrangement or gold or pearls or expensive clothing, But by doing good deeds (deeds in themselves good and for the good and advantage of those contacted by them) as befits women who profess reverential fear for and devotion to God

 

What is the definition of modest? Modesty describes a set of determined values that relate to the presentation of the self to others. The other meaning, also called body modesty is closely related to shame: it is the wish or requirement not to expose too much of the human body; this applies to the bare skin, but also to hair and to the display of undergarment, and especially to intimate parts. Webster’s Dictionary: Modest- discreet, meek, moderate, nice, proper, quiet, reserved, silent, inexpensive, reasonable

 

FYI: Please don’t email or write me telling me God told you to wear pants. If God told you this, then do it. God gave me the directive to preach this word and I’ll do what was instructed regardless of whose toes I may step on. It’s a life changing step in which God will get the glory. I advise you to truly seek God on this matter. My question to you is: Why would you not want to wear a dress or skirt daily? What are you afraid of? Are you worried about what others are going to say? Are you concerned you may not fit in with the world? Whose word is more important, the Lord or the world? 

The "word” says we have to be modest in apparel. This simply means we have to cover ourselves up. Flesh cannot play a part in our dress attire. If you represent the King, you cannot look like the world. Folks should be able to look at you and see there is something different about you. Yes ladies, you’re suppose to wear dresses and skirts regardless of what society says, what the so-called “gospel celebrities” say or how they appear. We want to compromise the word when it comes to what we want. But we want God to bless us fully, but we can’t do what He says wholeheartedly. It’s time out for playing church!  Remember: The sinners won’t come to church until the church folks get saved! Sinners are watching how we live, how we dress, how we act and how we treat people.  Let’s give God the glory instead of giving our ”flesh” the glory....

The bottom line is the holy woman should be an example of what the Word says about the holy woman professing Christ. There should be a difference between the way a woman and a man dress. Today’s society says we can look how we feel. For those following satan, of course!! For those following God, NO! You have to give up people, places, things, habits, dress attire, and worldly music to follow God. You can't pour old wine into new wine. God gives you a choice, heaven or hell. He’s not going to make you follow Him, it’s a choice. Don’t be afraid to give up stuff to follow God, His reward is MUCH GREATER than what the world has to offer. What harm could it possibly do to choose dresses over pants? What harm could it possibly do to choose skirts over shorts? What harm could it possibly do to be covered in dress than to show all of what God gave you? People should be able to look at you and see there is something different about you in dress attire without you having to say a word about you being saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. You should be set apart, different and be a leader and not a follower. Praise Dancers: the same rule applies to your attire in and out of the church.

 

I have chosen to follow God 100%, I have chosen to  wear skirts and dresses and not pants. I refuse to expose my  precious temple to the world.  I refuse to lower my standards to fit in with trends and worldly foolishness! The devil is a liar! I challenge you to take a stand on the word of God. I challenge you to go a little higher in Christ. Let’s be doers of the word. You have to act the part of a Christian, live it, speak it, and look it!

 

Don’t worry if you have a closet full of pants (like I did). My vow to God on January 28, 2006 is not to buy another pair of pants. I purchase skirts, dresses and modest blouses only. When I purchased a skirt, I threw away a pair of pants until my closet was complete. You can still be cute in modest apparel, your skirts should be knee length and lower. You don't have to wear long ankle skirts all the time, I love them both.. I think you get the picture, the choice is yours. What are you going to do?  Feed your flesh or please the Lord…
